The only editorial listing of the event industry’s best fabrication partners
For the fabricators of the experiential marketing world, the days of waiting for clients to call are largely in the rearview mirror, with shops across the board seeing an exponential uptick in business, sometimes even requiring staffers to work nights and weekends. But after enduring the painful pandemic slowdown, you won’t hear anyone complaining about the extra hours. Fabricators are embracing the flood of projects coming their way—and they’re equipped to handle them. Literally.
Whether their forte is trade show booths, museum installations, consumer pop-ups, virtual environments or something in between, many shops are offering a new arsenal of tools, tech and services designed to give them an edge amid a competitive climate. Investments in new warehouse facilities, 3D printing, digital rendering, mixed reality and proprietary analytics platforms are just a few of the upgrades made by this year’s Fab 50.
Of course, a fabrication house is only as good as its team of makers. Even amid the labor shortage, several shops have expanded their crews, and as a result, their capabilities. From acrylics specialists to architectural engineers, roles and areas of expertise are expanding, and clients are reaping the benefits.
There’s no denying the obvious: Timelines are more unpredictable than ever, the cost of materials continues to skyrocket, and supply chain problems persist. But the fabrication houses on this year’s roster have adapted to these industry-wide challenges. And for that, we salute them.
There may be a few lingering bumps in the road ahead, but the Fab 50 are steady as she goes. To select the list, our editors combed through the applications to uncover whose work, capabilities and services are delivering impactful designs and builds for clients.
Congratulations to all of the 2022 honorees.
