Fergus Rooney and Gabrielle Martinez, owners and founders of agencyEA, announced plans to open a new creative space in Chicago’s River North neighborhood today. Debuting in spring 2016 at 920 N. Franklin, Savage Smyth will occupy the fourth and fifth floors of the building, which also houses offices for agencyEA, a brand experience agency that produces events for Hilton Worldwide, Target, Twitter, LinkedIn, GE, the White House and Boeing.
“Opening a venue was a natural next step in the evolution of our business,” said Rooney, CEO of agencyEA. “We recognized the need for a unique meeting and event platform where innovators across fields can connect, collaborate and create.”
After purchasing the building at 920 N. Franklin in 2014, Rooney and Martinez set out to complete a thoughtful restoration of the venue, which will offer 16,000 square feet of customizable, open space with ample natural light, modern elements and artisan detailing. An open plan rooftop showcases the expansive Chicago skyline.
“Our combined 45 years of expertise in event production, marketing and design heavily influences the space,” said Martinez, managing partner of agencyEA. “We are considering every functional requirement for those looking to create innovative, bold experiences while incorporating the work of local makers and artists.”
Now taking bookings for spring 2016, the multi-functional venue lends itself to endless programming opportunities including corporate meetings and events, thought leadership programs, community forums and artistic showcases. Rooney and Martinez plan to introduce the space to Chicago communities and agencyEA’s partners through a calendar of thoughtfully curated events and unique programming.
